The following is a current list of all countries and territories I have visited, based on a definition of ‘country’ provided by the Traveler’s Century Club (TCC). I use the TCC list as it includes areas such as Taiwan, Transnistria, Canary Islands, and other areas that are not technically countries, but are distinct in some way (the total TCC count is currently 327 countries.) In addition to the TCC numbers in the table below, I also indicate the overall totals as defined not just by TCC, but also by Montevideo Convention rules (Sovereign States) and then by actual voting members of the United Nations.
227 = TCC Countries visited
173 = Sovereign Nations visited as defined by the Montevideo Convention
164 = United Nation voting member states visited

Looking forward to more stories.. don’t know how you do it..!
Link to TCC is incorrect (although it looks right, href takes you elsewhere..)
The Bailiwick of Jersey (Channel Islands) is conspicuously absent from your list and whilst you say you aren’t ticking them off I’m sure you are really 😉
Thanks Gus, I fixed the TCC link. I definitely intend to visit the Channel Islands someday, but that day hasn’t arrived yet. More stories to come! Posting Fiji today…thanks again!
99 UN countries, same as me:)
Good luck! I’ll slow down after the 100. Hope you enjoyed Latvia, but 2010 probably was pretty gloomy due to recession.
Ivars
Thanks Ivars! I’m actually at 100 UN countries as of last week, I hadn’t updated the page yet (just did now.) And Latvia was great, Riga is a beautiful city. Would like to explore more of it at some point as well.
